IS YOUR BUSINESS GIVING PESTS WHAT THEY WANT?

A minor pest issue can have a significant financial impact on your business; however a larger infestation could cripple your company's reputation. A few pests can multiply quickly once inside, this is why prevention is imperative. We will assess:

  • Entry Points: Pests can enter your business in many ways, including through doors, windows, vents, cracks or holes in walls and floors.
  • Water Sources: Pests require water daily, which means water fountains, restrooms, faulty drains, condensation from air conditioning systems and other types of plumbing are attractive breeding grounds.
  • Food Sources: Even minor hygiene mishaps provide adequate food for pests. Cockroaches will eat almost anything allowing them to breed easily.
  • Harbourage Points: Rodents and cockroaches seek living spaces that are small and dark. Little cracks and crevices throughout your facility can provide breeding and living areas for pests.
  • Customer/Employee Areas: Areas like lunch & waiting rooms. Protecting your customers and staff from unsightly and unhealthy exposure to pests is essential to your business success and to your bottom line.

WE DO EVERYTHING NOT TO DISRUPT YOUR BUSINESS WHILST WE ARE AT YOUR PREMISES SUCH AS PROVIDING A 24/7 SERVICE

TERMITES

Protecting more than just your home!

Left untreated, termites can literally eat away at your greatest asset, your home. Termites cause many millions of dollar's damage to buildings in Australia every year which is not covered by your household Insurance. If we detect a termite infestation or the potential for one, we will discuss the best solution for your situation.

OPC SPECIALISE IN

LIQUID TREATMENT

This solution works inside, outside, and within the foundation to provide a protective area around your home. The treatment offers immediate protection as well as protection from future infestations throughout the duration of the protection plan.

We use application flowmeters to record the amount of termiticide used in each area and the cumulative total recommended after each treatment, to deliver the precise amount needed.

BAIT STATIONS

Bait Stations are placed around your property to intercept termites. Once intercepted, Termite Bait is added to the Station. The termites feed on the poison and the colony is eliminated easily and quickly, right at the point of termite attack.

Baiting Stations are inspected every three months, at completion you will receive a Termite Control Service report that outlines exactly what was found.

TERMITE INSPECTIONS

A termite inspection is recommended at least annually by the Australian Standard AS3660 even if you have a termite protection system in place. It's important to know that having a termite system in operation makes termites easier to detect but wont stop them from attacking your building. Your existing termite protection system may also be ineffective due to numerous reasons which you need to be aware of. A comprehensive report gives you essential information on:

  • • Current Termite Activity
  • • Evidence of Previous Termite Damage
  • • The Conditions around your Property that are Conducive to Termite Attack
  • • Evidence of a Current Termite Protection System
  • • Advice on how to minimise the Likelihood of Termite Attack
  • • How often You should have a Termite Inspection
  • • Various options for a termite Protection Program

Timber Pest inspections are carried out in accordance with Australian Standards

TIPS IN KEEPING YOUR HOME FREE FROM PESTS

Homes have everything pests need to survive, they're warm, have food and water sources. Some household pests you can live with - the odd fly, etc. does little harm. However some household pests have the capacity to do a lot of damage – to your family's health, your home itself.

Keeping your home free from pests is always a joint effort between you and the Professional Pest Controller. Our services are highly effective, but only if the home-owner is doing their best to limit "Pest-Friendly Environments".

Below is a list of the most common pests and some useful tips to ensure your Pest Control Service is effective:

COCKROACHES

Once inside your home the pest will seek harbourage, food and water. Cockroaches have an aggregation pheromone in their droppings – that is why they cluster together – so sealing potential harbourages, such as the gap between stainless steel and tiles can assist in minimising infestations.

  • Declutter all shelves and keep all areas clean and tidy
  • Seal all food in containers
  • Make sure all grease and food scraps are cleaned daily
  • Sealing all gaps and cracks
  • Fixing leaking pipes
  • Put food away
  • Clean Bins and sinks daily

RODENTS

Look for quiet places to nest in such as wall and roof voids, sheds and piles of debris. Rats can squeeze through a gap the thickness of your thumb, mice through a gap the size of your little finger. Baiting is only part of effective rodent management.

  • Keep pantries, Subfloors, Roof Voids clean and tidy
  • Do not leave piles of boxes or cardboard laying around
  • Store all foods in containers
  • Declutter all storage areas
  • Ensure bins have properly fitted lids

SPIDERS

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) efforts, including prevention, sanitation, and exclusion, that reduce insects will also help to reduce spiders both directly and indirectly - by reducing the "food" on which they prey. Spiders tend to spin their webs in quiet, secluded areas. To discourage such nesting in and around your home:

  • Keep firewood and logs away from the home
  • Clean up leaves and other organic debris from around the yard
  • Trim back any trees and shrubs that contact the home
  • Seal cracks and gaps in the home's structure
  • Reduce or eliminate piles of papers, boxes, bags, and other clutter to reduce potential harbourage areas
